🌱 One Tree Today, A Greener Tomorrow: How 35+ Kids Transformed Noida’s Metro Green Belt 🌳

Small hands can make a massive impact on our planet. Today, the green belt opposite the Noida Metro Station became a classroom for climate action and community spirit.

Around 9:00 AM on June 20, 2026, the dedicated children of Volunteers 137, in a powerful collaboration with the Noida Authority Horticulture Team and the UshaKiran NGO, hosted an inspiring fruit-tree plantation drive. More than 35 enthusiastic children rolled up their sleeves, dug into the earth, and took a stand for environmental conservation.

🌟 Sowing the Seeds for the Future

Led by UshaKiran NGO Director Ms. Chhaya Sharma, the children planted native Guava (Amrood) and Jamun (Black Plum) saplings.
While ornamental trees look nice, choosing fruit-bearing trees is a deliberate choice for local urban ecosystems. Over the coming years, these specific saplings will provide:

  • Improved Air Quality: Crucial for a cleaner, fresher NCR.
  • Urban Biodiversity: Creating necessary shade and nesting habitats for local birds and small animals.
  • Nutritional Bounty: Offering organic, seasonal fruits to the community.

❤️ A Heartwarming Global Connection

The drive united community members near and far. While young eco-champion Ayansh Batra is currently away in Canada, his spirit remained right at the venue. His proud grandparents attended the drive and planted a sapling on his behalf, proving that distance is no barrier to loving and protecting Mother Earth.

A special shoutout to our brilliant young leaders who led by example on the ground:

  • Pranav Varshney, Sayesha Gupta, and Maryam Ahsan
  • Avir Rana, Mairah Shahid, Avni Sharma, and Pavni Sharma
  • Ekaksha Gupta, Ahana Srivastava, Nikshith Srivastava, and Pragun Nigam

🤝 More Than Just Planting: A Lifetime Pledge

Planting a tree is easy, but keeping it alive requires commitment. The highlights of today's drive weren't just the saplings in the mud, but the solemn pledges taken by the children. Every single participant promised to regularly water, monitor, and care for their specific sapling until it grows into a self-sustaining tree.
As the event wrapped up, the children issued a loud, clear appeal to all residents of Noida: Environmental protection is not just a secondary responsibility—it is an immediate duty we owe to future generations.

The teams at Volunteers 137, UshaKiran NGO, and the Noida Authority Horticulture Team have already promised to bring more of these community-led eco-drives to our sectors soon. Let’s follow these kids' lead and green our neighborhoods, one sapling at a time.
